Scholarships

Strecker Scholarship

The Strecker scholarship will be awarded to two (one for $1,000 and one for $2,000) Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (IMSE) seniors who demonstrate academic excellence in Industrial Engineering.

Applications are due to the IMSE department no later than May 1, 2017. Email applications to imse@k-state.edu or bring physical copy to 2061 Rathbone Hall.

Qualifications
  • Must have a 3.3 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Must be a KSU senior who will graduate in May, August, or December 2018
To apply, submit the following:
  • A cover letter to include your name, contact information, and which scholarship you are applying for. Sign and date bottom of page. 
  • A resume that includes your GPA, extracurricular activities, work experience, and community service experience
  • An essay (one page max) answering the following question:
    • What would you like to be remembered for at the conclusion of your engineering career?

IMSE Professional Academy Scholarship

The Professional Academy Scholarship will be awarded to five Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (IMSE) students who demonstrate academic excellence in industrial engineering. The scholarship includes a $1,000 award, or $500 per fall and spring semesters. 

Qualifications
  • Must have a 3.3 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Awarded to one sophomore, two junior, and two senior students as defined below:
    • Sophomore (30-59 credits)
    • Junior (60-89 credits)
    • Senior (90+ credits)
To apply, submit the following:
  • A cover letter to include your name, contact information, and which scholarship you are applying for. Sign and date bottom of page. 
  • A resume that includes your GPA, extracurricular activities, work experience, and community service experience
  • An essay (1,000 words max) answering the prompt below:
    • The Academy, Advisory Council, and faculty are currently working to define the "IE Identity" - essentially, a blueprint for articulating what an IE is in concrete terms. This identity will be used by the department in many ways, from recruiting new students to shaping the future curriculum at K-State. In 1,500 words or fewer, describe three new and innovative program ideas (e.g. new classes, class content changes, corporate involvement, lecture series, etc.) that you see as a priority for the department and the Academy to invest in to help our students build these skills both now and during their careers as lifelong learners.
